Metrolink Train vs. Vehicle Traffic Collision

On August 22, 2017 at 1814 hours, a full rescue response was dispatched to a train vs. vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Buena Vista Street and Vanowen Street. Upon arrival, Engine 14 found one vehicle on the tracks approximately 250 yards west of the intersection that had been struck by a Metrolink passenger train. There were no injuries to any train passengers or responders. The Burbank Police Department, LA County Sheriff’s Department, National Transportation Safety Board and Metrolink were notified and responded. All fire units cleared the scene at approximately 1940 hours and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
