On September 22, 2017 at 2156 hours, the Burbank Fire Department was dispatched to the Hollywood Burbank Airport then rerouted to a plane crash at Glenoaks Boulevard and Allen Avenue in the City of Glendale. Truck 11 and Engine 27 found that a Mooney M20P plane that had crashed. Battalion 1 assumed command as Allen Incident Commander, with Truck 11 assigned as Rescue and Engine 27 as Suppression. Truck 11 found two people on board the plane. There was no fire or odor of fuel. The Police Department provided traffic and pedestrian control. An Airport representative responded to the scene. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration arrived to investigate and coordinate the removal of the plane.
